Bing Center Clinic
Catherine (Cat) joined the Bing Center for Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia in September 2019. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Cat grew fond of Massachusetts during her undergraduate years at the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA). After graduating from HC with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Biochemistry concentration, she worked on clinical trials as a research coordinator for the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center at Dana-Farber. It was in this role that she was struck by the caring and innovative culture at DFCI, and where her interest in hematologic malignancies grew. She was inspired by the multidisciplinary team she worked with, and realized that nursing was the path for her to pursue. Cat later returned to school, Simmons University, to become a nurse and family nurse practitioner. Prior to graduating with her MSN in 2019, she worked inpatient as an RN at Spaulding Hospital Cambridge, where she encountered a variety of medical conditions and worked largely with organ transplant and neurological patient populations. Cat is so thrilled to return to Dana-Farber as the nurse practitioner for the Waldenstrom's team. She looks forward to getting to know and working with WM patients, and working together towards achieving shared health care goals. In her spare time, she enjoys running, barre, and HIIT work-outs, and good old-fashioned Netflix.
